1st April 2009 On the first of April 2009 Bob Shires, Malcolm Hughes and Brian Rogers stepped down from their positions as Main Board Directors of the Cable Services Group and Joint Managing Directors of Cable Services Ltd. Malcolm Hughes has retired from the business after 36 years service to the Company whilst Brian Rogers and Bob Shires will continue for the time being as non-executive Directors. The position of Managing Director has been filled by Jason Bostock, formally the Financial Director, who has been with the Company since 1999. News 5th July 2007 Due to continued growth Cable Services Central is moving from its Stoke-on-Trent home for the last twenty five years to new bigger premises, 10 miles further south in Stone. Apart from the benefits of bigger premises in terms of stocking, the new branch is more conveniently situated for access to the M6 which will benefit both suppliers and customers alike. 1st June 2005 On the first of June Cable Services published its new specialised tooling catalogue. For many years Cable services has been recognised as the main source of supply for the specialised tools associated with cable jointing and terminating. 1st April 2005 On the 1st of April 2005, Cable Services North West Ltd and Cable Services UK Ltd were merged into an entirely new company called CABLE SERVICES LTD. This new company, operating out of a new sales office in Wrexham, will bring appreciable benefits to all customers in increased sales efficiency and response. A new direct line contact number has been introduced (01978 340450), but the old numbers will remain available for the time being. Tyco Electronics Energy Division have today reconfirmed that Cable Services remain one of the principle distributors of their electrical products into the South West of England. In a letter to Cable Services, Mr Paul Rees, the Regional Sales Manager, stated that " The South West England territory, made vacant by the termination of Thorne and Derricks distributorship will not be re-allocated. Several Specialist Distributors already have interests in the area, and it is our intention to support all activities".
