Jason Bostock (Group Managing Director) made comment on Warren reaching this landmark “ Warren has seen a lot of changes since he began his journey with us all those years ago, with the biggest one being the relocation of the Wrexham Head office to a purpose built distribution centre on the Wrexham Industrial Estate back in 2020. Warren and his team worked tirelessly to successfully complete the move, and that work ethic continues to this day.”

Twenty years of change
As Jason says, the biggest single change of Warren’s two decades came in 2020, when the Wrexham head office relocated to a purpose-built distribution centre on the Wrexham Industrial Estate. Moving a working distribution operation without letting customers down is a huge logistical undertaking, and it was Warren and his warehouse team who carried the load – keeping orders moving throughout while an entire site’s worth of stock found its new home.
The warehouse is the heartbeat of a business like ours. Every promise the sales desk makes – same-day despatch, accurate picks, cable cut to length and ready to collect – is kept or broken in the warehouse. Doing that job well for twenty years, through the busiest periods the group has known, is exactly the kind of contribution that rarely makes headlines but that customers feel every single day.
Why the Wrexham hub matters
The Wrexham distribution centre is the engine room of the whole group. It holds the stock depth that lets six branches – Wrexham, Glasgow, Liverpool, Stone, Swindon and Guildford – promise customers low, medium and high voltage cable and accessories when they need them, and it is where much of the group’s cable cutting is handled. When utility contractors are working to outage windows or project deadlines, the difference between a good supplier and a great one comes down to whether the right drum leaves the right bay on the right lorry. That is the standard Warren’s team is measured against, day in and day out, and it is a standard they keep.
Long service runs in the company
Warren’s milestone is part of a wider pattern at Cable Services – earlier this year our Credit Controller Carl Brown also marked 20 years with the group. A company that has been trading since 1971 doesn’t hold onto its reputation by accident; it does so because experienced people stay, pass their knowledge on, and take genuine pride in the standards they keep. We would rather celebrate that publicly than let it pass quietly.
Twenty years, one relocation, countless thousands of orders picked and despatched – and, as the hashtags below the original announcement put it rather well, twenty years not out. Milestones like Warren’s are the story of this company told one career at a time.
