The Cable Services Group now has six branches across the UK, with our new Guildford operation the latest addition – opened to bring the group’s specialist stock and technical support within easy reach of customers across Surrey, Hampshire, London and the wider South East.
Why Guildford?
The South East is home to some of the busiest utility, industrial and infrastructure activity in the country, and until now our nearest branch was Swindon. The new site at Henley Business Park in Normandy – complete with an 8,000 square foot warehouse – closes that gap. It means shorter delivery runs, faster response on urgent orders and a local team who can get to know the contractors, consultants and network operators working across the region. What you’ll find at the branch
Like every Cable Services branch, Guildford carries the group’s core range: low, medium and high voltage cable, cable accessories, jointing and termination systems from our key manufacturer partners, earthing materials, tooling and consumables – backed by cable cutting and the technical support the group has been known for since 1971. And because all six branches operate as one network, anything not on the shelf locally can be called off from the group’s central distribution hub in Wrexham quickly.

The full network now runs: Wrexham (head office and distribution centre), Glasgow (Smith Electrical), Liverpool, Stone, Swindon and Guildford. Wherever your projects take you in the UK, there is a branch – and a familiar standard of service – within reach. The Guildford team has already hosted its first events, including a well-attended open day with Lucy Electric, and they would be delighted to see you at the counter.
A growing group, the same philosophy
Every branch opening is guided by the same principle our founder Joe Williams set out when the company started in Wrexham in 1971: provide a first-class service on a focused range of specialist products, hold the stock to back it up, and deliver it efficiently. Guildford is simply the newest expression of that – a local counter, local stock and local knowledge, connected to a national group with more than fifty years of specialist expertise behind it.
For customers in the South East, the practical difference is speed and certainty. A drum of cable, a jointing kit or an urgent box of consumables no longer needs to travel half the country to reach a site in Surrey or Hampshire – and when a project throws up a technical question, there is now a team down the road who can talk it through, arrange training via the group’s facilities, or get a specialist answer from our manufacturer partners quickly.
