Group Director , Jason Bostock celebrating 25 years of service at the company.

Our Group Managing Director – Jason Bostock, has recently celebrated a land mark anniversary at the company – 25 years of service. 🙌

He discusses his greatest achievements, including the acquisition of Smith Electrical in 2004 , expanding the branch network, most recently opening a branch down in the South at Guildford. He also speaks about the re location of the head office from Wrexham , to a new 42,000 sq ft distribution warehouse down on the Wrexham Industrial Estate. A State of the art building 🏢 and industry leading. 🫡

A quarter of a century of growth

The milestones Jason reflects on read like a history of the modern group. The acquisition of Smith Electrical in 2004 gave Cable Services its Scottish base and a foothold in one of the UK’s most important energy markets. The branch network has grown steadily since – most recently with the opening of our Guildford branch, extending the group’s reach across London and the South East. And the relocation of the head office in Wrexham to a purpose-built 42,000 square foot distribution warehouse transformed the group’s logistics, giving the branches the stock depth and despatch capability that underpin the service customers see every day.

Leadership that knows the business

Twenty-five years is long enough to have seen the industry change several times over – new technologies, new regulations, and the renewable energy boom that is reshaping demand across the networks we supply. Steering a family-built business through all of that while growing it takes a particular kind of leadership: ambitious enough to invest in new branches, vehicles and facilities, and careful enough to protect the service-first culture that founder Joe Williams established back in 1971. That balance runs through every decision Jason describes.

Milestones across the group

Jason’s anniversary lands in good company. In the past year alone we have celebrated Warren Hughes marking 20 years in the Wrexham warehouse and Carl Brown’s 20th anniversary in accounts, and colleagues across all six branches measure their service in decades. That is not a coincidence – it reflects a business where people can build careers, take on responsibility and see their work recognised. When the person at the top has spent twenty-five years doing exactly that, it sets the tone for everyone else.

It also gives customers something valuable: continuity. Many of the relationships Jason built as he came up through the business are still trading with the group today, some spanning his entire tenure. In an industry where projects run for years and trust is earned slowly, that consistency at the top is worth a great deal.

Congratulations, Jason

From the board, the branches and everyone across the group – congratulations on twenty-five years. Milestone anniversaries have become a happy habit at Cable Services, and it seems only right that the Group Managing Director has joined the club. Here’s to the next chapter of the journey.

From stores to sales desks to the boardroom, careers here tend to be long ones – and the group is stronger for every single one of them.
