Hitting 30 years of service at Cable Services Liverpool branch

We have another staff member hitting the 30 years of service mark. 🎉 Congratulations to Gary Smith from our Liverpool branch. He has seen many changes over the years at the branch and continues to be a valuable member of the team servicing our North West Customers in the best possible way. 😊

Jean Williams (Chair person) recently visited the branch to present Gary with vouchers along with a thank you for all his hard work and dedication over the years. Well done Gary .

Three decades in the North West

Thirty years of service is a remarkable landmark by any measure. When Gary started at the Liverpool branch, much of the equipment, technology and product ranges we now handle daily simply didn’t exist – and the branch itself has changed around him, growing with the group as it expanded to six locations across the UK. What hasn’t changed is what Gary brings to it: deep product knowledge, relationships with North West customers built over decades, and the sort of calm reliability that makes a branch tick. Customers who have dealt with Liverpool over the years will know exactly what we mean.

Experience customers can feel

There is no shortcut to thirty years of knowledge. When a contractor rings with an unusual jointing requirement, a specification query on a legacy network, or a job that needs turning around the same day, it is experience like Gary’s that finds the answer quickly. That is the quiet value of long service – it compounds, year after year, into a level of support that cannot be hired in overnight. It is why we make a point of celebrating these milestones publicly: they are the foundation the group’s reputation stands on.

In very good company

Gary joins a growing roll of honour at the group. Recent months have seen Warren Hughes celebrate 20 years in the Wrexham warehouse, Carl Brown reach the same landmark in accounts, and Group Managing Director Jason Bostock mark 25 years – and at thirty years, Gary now sets the pace for them all. For a business that has been trading since 1971, these careers are the connective tissue between the company’s history and its present: the standards, stories and customer relationships get passed down from people like Gary to each new generation joining the branches.

As Chair, Jean Williams’ congratulations carry a particular weight – there are not many companies left where the Chair personally marks a warehouse or branch milestone, and it says everything about how this group regards its people.

Congratulations, Gary

From Jean, Jason, the board and every colleague across the six branches – congratulations on an outstanding thirty years, and thank you for everything you have given the Liverpool branch and its customers. Here’s to you.

Thirty years, one branch, countless customers looked after – and, we suspect, a fair few stories that are best saved for the retirement speech many years from now. Thank you, Gary, from all of us.

Here’s to the next milestone.
